Thousands of years ago Demons and Angels lurked in the shadows of humanity until God drew them away from Earth. But they were not all gone, they left something behind; a virus. This virus gave humans angel- and demon-like powers. This virus worked itself into the very DNA of those effected and so it was passed down generation to generation.
These bloodlines have stuck together in secret from the rest of the world and over time they even seemed to be forgotten. It has been seventy years since Laurel's Gifted Academy was created to teach those effected to use their abilities for good or to even be able to control them at all.
