From the look of the naked eye, one would assume that Namine is a rather quiet and weak teenage girl. Yes she is a bit shy at times but she certainly isn't weak, posessing a very strong and unique ability. She looks very sweet and harmless. When she is in situations that are dangerous to her, Such as The Organization kidnapping her she is rather quiet not saying much. But when someone besides herself is in danger she will speak out mainly to protect. Namine also has a very curious nature as well. Sometimes it can be goo but she often will rebel because of her curiousity. Such as her going to meet Roxas claiming that she wanted to meet him just once.
Despite her being so shy, Namine has shown that she does have strength and isn't always so shy and meek. She was willing to put herself in front of Larxene to protect Sora from Larxene killing him. This did lead to her being slapped by Larxene but she did it to protect her friend. She will always do whatever it takes to make sure that her friends are safe and happy. Even if it brings harm to her. Another reason beig because she constantly feels to much guilt over things and doesn't want to be the blame for something like that. She feels guilty for what she did to Sora in Castle Oblivion and wasn't able to go through with it like she was supposed to.
Namine has a true heart of gold, despite her not having one of her own. She defies everything about a Nobody being able to love, care and show a wide amount of emotions.

History:
Namine is the Nobody of Kairi. As discovered in Kingdom Hearts II she was formed in Kairi's heart when it was hiding within Sora's heart. Namine was not only created but so was Roxas, who is Sora's nobody. Namine is not just any Nobody though. She is a special Nobody with a special ability. Namine is a memory witch. She has the power to alter the memories of Sora and those who have a relation with him. Which Organization XIII takes and uses to their ability in Chain of Memories in order to kidnap Sora for their own use. Namine changes all of Sora's memories once he enters the Castle of Oblivion to lure him in farther. She makes herself go in Kairis' place so Sora thinks that she is the girl that he is looking for.
Namine has not choice to do this even though she knows it is wrong. However Axel gives her the chance to go and talk to Sora. Namine eagerly takes it. Once meeting with Sora, Namine does like the feeling of being loved. But she knows that it is wrong. She confesses the truth to Sora about how she altered his memories and how she wasn't the friend he was searching for. Like anyone Sora was angry but he still showed kindness to Namine even though his memories of her were all fake.
However Sora's was not the only memory she altered. The Riku Replica who Vexen created was to be used against Sora. He also believed the same thoughts of Namine as Sora does. Sora believes this to be the real Riku. But soon learns how it is just a 'puppet' and not his real best friend.
After defeating Marluxia, Sora speeks to Namine about his old memories. Namine tells him that she can get his old memories back but he would forget all of his memories in the Castle of Oblivion. Sora chooses his old memories and Namine agrees she will restore them. She places Sora, Donald and Goofy in pod-like machines where they will be while she restores the memories.
Sora is not the only one she helped though. She also helped the real Riku who enters the Castle. When Zexion strikes him with light, She takes on Kairi's appearance to convince him to accept the darkness as well as the light. Thus, he is given the strength to move through the light and strike down Zexion, who only just barely escapes. Later she meets with DiZ and Riku revealing the sleeping Sora. She offers Riku the chance to seal the darkness in his heart by going in a sleeping pod like Sora. Riku declines claiming he will face the darkness on his own. Namine believes that to be the better choice. Riku then goes off to face the darkness.
In Kingdom Hearts II Namine is still restoring the memories of Sora. She discovers Roxas and even though it was against DiZ's orders, Namine goes to see him several times not giving him any information though. That is until Roxas goes to the Castle where Namine is. Namine tells him the truth as Roxas looks at all of the pictures Namine drew of the 'real' him. Riku has also been instructed by DiZ to kill Namine believing he had no more use for her. But Riku decides to let her go as a way of paying her a thank you for her help. Namine goes with Axel.
Later Namine meets Kairi who was imprisioned with Pluto. She frees them both attempting to flee the Organization. Namine gives Kairi the strength to believe in herself since Kairi is a bit hesitant about going with Namine not yet knowing that she is her Nobody. They then proceed to find Sora, though Naminé's close proximity to her true counterpart causes her to blink in and out of existence as they apparently begin to join together again. While searching for Sora, they are intercepted by Saïx. However, Riku arrives on the scene, and manages to drive off Saïx. Naminé then tells Riku that he can take over from this point, and vanishes.
After the first battle with the Kingdom Hearts-powered Xemnas, Naminé appears another time, though in a transparent state, and opens up a pathway to Destiny Islands; apparently, only Sora, Riku, and Kairi can see her, as Mickey, Donald, and Goofy have no idea where the pathway came from. Mickey, Donald and Goofy enter the corridor, leaving Sora, Riku and Kairi behind to speak to Roxas and Naminé. Kairi thanks her for the help. Naminé then tells Sora that they meet again, though he does not understand what she means (due to his memory loss of Castle Oblivion). At that moment, Roxas projects himself from Sora, and the two Nobodies are glad to meet once more, just as Naminé promised. The two realize that not all Nobodies are doomed to fade into the darkness, as they were able to meet their original selves, and though they are no longer independent, they will still live on through Sora and Kairi. Sora and Kairi promise their counterparts that they will be together every day, and without regret, Naminé finally joins with Kairi, completing her.
The two are last seen in the ending FMV, when Sora and Riku return home to a waiting Kairi. As Sora looks up to smile at Kairi, he takes on the appearance of Roxas. Kairi then takes on the appearance of Naminé, smiling back.
