They Can't Take Our Rights
Name: Kairi
Age: 15
Personality: Kairi is more or less the voice of reason between Riku and Sora, but occasionally the source of their spats when things get ugly. She can be very mother hen about both of them, but her heart melts for Sora more often than it does for Riku, and she sees him as someone to be protected rather than someone to do the protecting. This can lead her to discourage him at times. Riku she has more faith in, but for this reason she’s more distanced from him. Even so, she’s very much the third member of a duo, and while things don’t always run smoothly between them as friends, they keep it together and take solace in one another’s presence.
What game are you from/or are you a OC: Kingdom Hearts
History: Kairi originated in Hollow Bastion, then Radiant Garden, where she learned why the world had split into many from an old guardian. As a Princess of Heart, she would be attracted to the chosen wielder of the Keyblade, and so she was selected and sent out into the cosmos. She ended up on Destiny Islands, where Sora was the first person to find her and she developed a unique bond with him. She also befriended Riku, and the three of them spent ten years together before they decided to leave the islands on a raft. This was Riku’s decision more than anything, spurred on by Kairi’s faint memories of her home and arrival in the first place. But on the night before they were able to leave, a storm struck the islands and all three of them were drawn to their play island to protect the raft. While Sora confronted Riku, Kairi went to the Secret Place, likely drawn by the Heart of the world. Sora found her there, but by then it was too late. Kairi had lost her heart, and it joined Sora’s in his chest. She was within him throughout his adventures, occasionally appearing to him when he was dazed or distracted, while in the meantime Riku located her body, which slept like a doll without its heart. Desperate to reclaim at least one of his friends, as well as trying to outdo Sora, Riku did everything he could to provide a heart for her. He and the doll body encountered Sora in Neverland, where Kairi’s body and heart were able to react in tandem to Sora’s presence. But then Riku took her body and vanished, leaving Sora to fight his shadow self.
Sora chased Riku all the way to Hollow Bastion, finding it familiar due to the faint memories in Kairi’s heart. That’s where Maleficent and Riku were keeping Kairi’s body, along with the other Princesses of Heart, and Sora fought his way there even when the Keyblade and his companions betrayed him. Riku, possessed by Ansem, finally revealed to him the fact that Kairi had been inside him all along and attacked with the intention of releasing Kairi’s heart. But Kairi called out in desperation, and Sora blocked the attack, battling Riku until Ansem’s possession of him could no longer hold out and he vanished. With the Keyhole unstable and the entire world about to go under, taking Princess and Keymaster and court wizard and captain of the guard with it, Sora had no choice but to release his own heart from his body along with Kairi’s. Once her heart returned, Kairi tried to catch him, knowing very well what had just happened—but Sora vanished in her hands. Kairi refused to give up hope, but when Riku appeared and told her to run, she knew that was in her best interests and fled with Donald and Goofy. They encountered a very persistent Heartless, however, and Kairi recognized it incredulously as Sora. But then they were attacked, and in an effort to protect Sora Kairi ended up purifying his heart and restoring him to human form. The group of them returned to Traverse Town, where Kairi quickly shoved her charm into Sora’s hand and extracted a promise to return it to her from him. It was a very roundabout way of getting him to come back and didn’t leave very many strings attached, but Kairi wasn’t just fighting to bring him home but fighting to hide her feelings for him in the process. She only saw him briefly at the End of the World after that, where he voluntarily promised to return to her, and thinking of it later in the Secret Place she got emotional.
A year passed, and to Kairi’s dismay she forgot everything about Sora. Riku remained as clear in her memory as day, but Sora was gone. She couldn’t have known this but it was because her forbidden Nobody, Naminé, was busy altering Sora’s memories and the people in them were affected. While still on the islands, she briefly connected with Sora’s Nobody, Roxas. Him she didn’t really care about, but he knew something about the boy she couldn’t remember so she was interested. That’s when Sora spoke directly to Kairi, chiding her for forgetting him and giving her a hint. She was able to remember his name from that, and ultimately decided she needed to leave the islands. Before she could strike out on her own and do something purposeful for once, though, she was unfortunately kidnapped by Axel. He botched it the first time, though, and she found her way to Twilight Town. The second time he got her, only to lose her to Saïx. As a result, she was held in the dungeon of the Castle That Never Was until Naminé—a person she didn’t know, but a person she instinctively trusted—came to rescue her. The two of them encountered Saïx before they could escape, though, and a stranger came to their rescue that Naminé identified as Riku. Riku tried to leave, but Kairi stopped him and discovered that he looked like the man she still knew to be Ansem. Maybe some questions were answered or maybe not, and the two of them went back into the castle. Kairi spotted Sora, who was happy to see her but a little busy at the moment, and then immediately became a damsel in distress again. Riku came to her aid, giving her a Keyblade while he dual-wielded, and Kairi attacked the Heartless for the first time. When Sora reached her, the two of them spoke briefly—but Kairi had to initiate contact, embracing him and realizing that the boy who was nothing but a faded memory for an entire year wasn’t just a dream or a figment of her imagination. Riku tried to leave again, but Kairi stopped him and insisted to Sora that he was Riku. Her hands joined theirs, and when Sora realized the truth he lost all control over his emotions and dropped to his knees.
From that point on, it was a simple matter of taking out the rest of the Organization—which they did—and taking out Xemnas—which Sora did on his own—and then dealing with the Kingdom Hearts that had sprouted up as a result of Xemnas joining with it in his dying act. Kairi was left behind for this battle. Then, once they knew they’d won and were celebrating, Kairi and Sora briefly met with Naminé, who’d called up a portal to their home world. Naminé addressed Roxas, who joined with Sora once Naminé finished joining with Kairi, and Kairi moved on to go through the portal. Sora and Riku were left behind, though, and only managed to get home after yet another titanic battle through some poetry Kairi had written to Sora while getting maudlin over not remembering him. He returned her charm to her and it was a done deal.

We will fight
Weapons: A Keyblade available to her only when Riku dual-wields and grants her the use of it.
Powers: The ability to purify a Heartless’s heart the way she did Sora’s given the emotion and the will are strong enough between them.
How did you find us: I’m Axel and Xigbar
Custom Title: Princess of Heart
Sample RP: Kairi came to with a jolt, thrown out of a falling dream and now jarringly still. She didn’t move for several moments, inexplicably comfortable even though she was sprawled on the floor. A rough tongue scraped across her cheek, and she batted the owner away, moaning sleepily. That’s when the yapping started, staccato bursts of sound in the relative silence, and she gritted her teeth in vexation. “All right already,” she grumbled, and she gradually coaxed her body into a sitting position.
The first feeling to assault her senses was pain, and she let out a small, agonized wheeze in back of her throat as she moved. Her shoulder and back felt as if she’d gotten thrown into a wall, her calves stung with exertion, and her hands throbbed from where they’d hit the ground to catch her. She tried to piece her scattered memories back together.
Ax…what was his name, Ajax or something, had tracked her down at the islands. He’d said something about Sora, but she just knew she shouldn’t trust him—something in his eyes—and then…and then…she frowned. And then Pence, and Olette, and the other guy who reminded her of Riku somehow. And Ajax…happened, and her arm was still red where he grabbed her—and then darkness, and running, and she fell—leather against her back…
Kairi looked down at herself and sighed. She was in a sorry state, still sticky with sweat and doggy spit, she observed sourly as she rubbed at her cheek with her hood. The culprit was circling the room, sniffing at the floor and occasionally raising a floppy black ear to listen intently. Kairi didn’t like dogs—they were dirty and sloppy and smelly—but she was grudgingly happy not to be completely alone.
