When he spoke to her, it was like he was trying to soften her before he said something hurtful, or asked her something personal. She already had her defense of her 'illness' on the tip of her tongue, but what he asked her about made her smile. "Oh, don't worry about my feelings over that topic, Yukimura. Really." She got that out of the way before she explained. "Yes, you are right that I was worried about someone, he's like my brother we have been together for forever and recently we got into the sky pirating business. He wanted to anyway, I went along to make sure he didn't get himself killed. But when I stumbled through the dark arch way I was alone. I've been here a week so naturally I'm worried about him." She didn't comment about what he said about them traveling together for a while into the future. The fact of it was she didn't mind the idea at all, and he was welcome to stay with her as long as he wanted.
"But yeah, it has been just the two of us for a long time and then I vanish out of thin air, so I know he's worried about me but I have no clue what to do. I mean I'm pretty sure I'm not even on the same planet I'm from." Penelo sighed and looked away for a moment. She had considered that possibility in her mind but after looking over a map of this world she concluded no one had ever heard of where she was from. She had asked a man how to get to Archadia from here, but he only balked, so she gave up on that.

As Yukimura expected, Penelo ignored the comment he said about them travelling together. She talked about how she had been with someone and then entered a dark arch and ended up on this world only a week before, while also talking about how she was a sky pirate. He didn't get caught up with the sky pirate thing. Rather, the thought about how she had entered a dark arch of some sort and then mysteriously ending up here was weird enough for him.
He spoke when she was done. Yukimura said, in a slightly disturbed manner, "Well now... That's... well... That's very weird..."
He paused and looked outside through a window. It was getting dark already, but he could still see the cascade of water droplets still plummeting into the ground. Something caught Yukimura's attention again, his face showing some fear that was developing. He spoke again, while raising his hand to point at what he was seeing and not moving his eyes or head away from what was outside.
His voice didn't tremble. Why? His fear wasn't because of how the figure outside looked. Rather, it was concern for this establishment and for the people inside.
"Penelo... Tell me if you're seeing that thing too," He said, his tone sounding hustled. Outside, the same figure was floating. It was fairly larger than a human and was veiled in a strange, torn cloak or robe that looked see through. It's bright red eye seemed to glow against the background. It had what seemed to have been a long hand with scythes for its fingers. It, too, was see through, but still quite visible. It pointed at Yukimura with its finger. Then, loud wild laughter shot through the air and echoed the surrounding area. The sound of it sent more chills up Yukimura's spine. It caused him to grab his sword's handle, in case if it came to attack. However, a flash of a lightning bolt raised upwards, temporarily blinding Yukimura.
"Damn it," Yukimura thought, while moving his fingers to his eyes to rub them. When he removed them, his sight was back to normal. The drifter quickly looked outside, only to see that nothing was there... Something bad was most likely going to happen. That much, Yukimura could tell.

She nodded in agreement. It was very weird and she figures that was why she was feeling so ill but again she was contemplating telling him that. She had no doubt he had noticed her weakness but still, she didn't want to admit to it. She watched his face, wondering if he was going to ask her another question, but the look on his face made her follow his gaze. Her eyes searched the area outside and although the hairs were standing on the back of her neck and she felt like Yukimura looked--scared silly-- but for the life of her she could only see rain. "I can feel it." She said quietly. "But I don't see it."
When the flash of lightning shot out she jumped in her seat and gasped a little, it caught her by surprise because of her concentration. She looked over at him again, her face was contorted like she was in pain and her hands immediately went to her stomach. "Wh-what was it?" She asked, her voice just over a breath. "Are you being haunted?"

At first, Penelo didn't seem to notice... However, that thought changed. When the lightning struck just moments ago, the young girl jumped. Yukimura looked at her quickly and noticed she was in pain. Her questions were quick, seemingly filled with fear. He looked outside again, to see if the figure was there once more... but just like it was before, there was nothing.
"I'm not sure... All that I'm sure about is that we should rest here for how ever long the rain continues on," Yukimura replied, while rising to his feet. He let go of his sword, allowing it to rest against the table. He walked around the chairs and tables to the counter. He called out for the man Penelo was talking to earlier.
"Excuse me, sir. Do you mind if we stay here until the rain lets up?"
Hopefully, the man would've heard him. Otherwise... Penelo and himself may be in more danger than what Yukimura predicted.

Penelo was starting to worry about what had brought Yukimura here, and what in the world did he see and she feel? It was like looking her own death in the face, she felt colder and sicker than normal and she didn't like it at all.
She watched him just get up and walk over to the counter and she strained her ears to hear what he was saying to the man behind the counter. She hoped he wasn't being rude.
The man looked up from the dish he was wiping down, and met eyes with Yukimura as he spoke. "Oh, no I don't mind. Try not to make a mess though, right?" He smiled to show he was not serious, "because then I would have to clean it up." He chuckled, but then set down his glass and leaned across the counter a little bit.
His eyes went to Penelo and then back to Yukimura. "Look, I don't know what's going on here and I'm not nosy enough to ask, but please, don't get poor Penelo into anymore trouble, she's been through more than she's told me and she doesn't need anymore with her illness, understand?" His good heartened tone faded to completely serious as he held eye contact with Yukimura. "You take care of her."

The man's tone was good heartened. Yukimura smile and scratched the back of his head, while placing on hand on the counter and leaning against it. He responded, saying, "Yes, I agree. She really shouldn't be up and about, but I think we both can agree that if she stays here, even for a night, she may begin feeling better quickly."
He looked back at Penelo for a bit, then looked back at the man when his tone became serious. The drifter nodded, showing that he understood. He pushed off the counter a bit with his left hand and walked back towards Penelo. Despite feeling scared, he decided to keep up a smile. It'd probably help her out if she didn't see him worrying or being frightened so. When he was next to her, Yukimura spoke once more.
"Penelo, I'm going to be heading outside for a bit... I need to check something out for a bit, so just stay inside," He stated, placing a hand on her shoulder once more and patting it a couple of times. He removed it and walked around the table to grab his sword. The Drifter wrapped his right hand around the handle and lifted it above his shoulder, then lowered back down on it. He placed his left hand into his pocket as he walked out of the little shop.
The rain was still pouring down hard like before. Lighting flashed again, with its thunderous crash shaking the air violently. Yukimura walked out to the road and stopped in the middle of it. He looked left and right, but saw nothing... However...
"Ah, so you've finally come out of that placcce," a ghostly hiss called out from no where. The voice sent shivers up Yukimura's spine once more. He lowered the weapon quickly and looked around himself once more. A strange, ere mist had begun to form around him in a circle. It was thick and billowed upwards, to prevent Yukimura from being seen, along with who or whatever had spoken. Anyone on the outside wouldn't have been able to see Yukimura clearly. If they were trying to see him, then they'd only see a black, distorted figure where the man stood.
