Crossing the line [Roxie]

I'm in serious shit, I feel totally lost

Xion blinked at this city. She wasn’t exactly sure how she had gotten here, but she didn’t really mind. From what she could tell, it was really big. She blinked slightly and jumped to the side when someone brushed passed her, not even looking at her. ‘Rude…’ she thought absentmindedly pulling her dress down and ducking into the subway place. For some reason, she thought it would be somewhat empty, and she was very glad when it sorta was. That may have had something to do with the fact that she had just came here during middle of the afternoon when normal people would be going home to their families with their hearts warm in their respectful places.

In all honesty, she hadn’t meant to come here…to Esthar City. It had been a complete accident. But not one that she minded too much. It looked like a peaceful place. Blinking around at the few people that were in the station, she easily managed to go around every single one of them without looking like she was avoiding them on purpose. Maybe here she would finally find peace. That didn’t, necessarily, mean that she would find any of her friends here because, really, what were the chances of that? Xion smiled to herself when she found a small bench, that could maybe fit her laying on her back or three people sitting down. Sitting on the edge of it, she looked around at everyone. No one seemed to really mind, or notice, the girl in the somewhat little black and grey dress sitting all by herself with her arms in her lap staring at all of them.

And I'm all mixed up, feeling cornered and rushed

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that she was a Nobody, and, therefore, very unnoticeable and unimportant.

Yes. Very unimportant. Not only that, however. She was also very stupid, at times, clumsy, and very bad at looking for things, even though she was excellent at hiding. Just like how she couldn’t find Axel and Roxas. How she couldn’t even find Demyx or Xigbar, even though she would have rather found the first two more than anything first.

I can try to pretend, I can try to forget

Because, after all, "Are they not my best friends?"

Crowds. Roxas wasn't too fond of them, but he wasn't afraid of them. He perfered to either be by himself or with his friends. He sighed and trudged onward, trying to elude any confrontation. He wasn't exactly sure where he was, he just decided to travel today. Get out of the castle, get things off of his mind. Being a teenager sucked sometimes, as much as he hated how it made him sound "emo", it was true. At least he didn't have the same worries as normal teenagers though: school, reputation, parents, et cetera. All he had to worry about was the occasional Heartless, Zexion's missions, and his friends. Come to think of it, he couldn't remember the last time he saw some of them. He hadn't seen Axel or Xion since that day in Twilight Town. Xelex was either off in a room with Jaxon, playing with Xinan or helping Daxmilta with her new shop. Other than that... He was pretty much alone.

He moved onward into the subway, possibly using it to get somewhere that didn't have nearly as many people. As he waited for the train to come, he slumped against a pillar that held the roof of the subway in place. He didn't have any gil, or money in general for that matter.With so many people, he'd just sneak on. He jerked his head to the side to glance at the large clock that read 5:05. Obviously it was the afternoon, explaining the large crown. He read the train schedule and noted that the train was the 5:10.

As the train screeched to a hault, he moved onboard quickly and found himself a seat and rested his head against the glass, closing his eyes. Before he knew it, he had nodded off into sleep.

Around 10 minutes later he was awakened by that familiar screeching noise of the subway train's wheels grinding against the rails. He decided to get off, and promptly left. What greeted him, though, was an incredible surprise. There, sitting on a bench, was one of his best friends; Xion. He didn't hesitate to hustle towards her, trying to gain her attention and spoke when he was around 20 feet from her.

"Hey Xion! What're you doing here?"

Xion, for some reason or another, heard her name being called. She blinked her a second, taking it in that someone was actually calling her. No, she was probably wrong. Someone was just trying to find someone they knew, and that person probably had a name that started with an X. Besides, who would be looking for her besides maybe Axel or Roxas, but she had made sure to pick a place they wouldn’t look for her. After all, it was just a random place. Who would come here besides the people that lived here? Even though it had many shops, it wasn’t a place she would normally come to. But, she was curious now. What if they had been calling her name. Unable to shake the questioning calling of the name that sounded like hers, she looked up and scanned the area around her until her blue eyes caught another pair. Swiftly, she quickly looked down again, pretending she didn’t hear, or see, anything. Roxas. Why was he here? Had be been following her or something?

That was unlikely, and she wanted to smack her own forehead for thinking such an idiotic thought. She wondered if he had seen her staring at him, even if it had only been for a few short seconds. Deciding that he hadn’t, she stood up, quietly, and started walking, slowly, to her left. She had no doubt that he would probably run to catch up to her. It was just the type of thing Roxas would do. As to why he was here, it was probably because he had some friend here or something along those lines. Now, that reason, she didn’t doubt. Roxas was a nice enough person. He could make friend’s easily, so there was hardly a doubt in her mind that that was the reason he was here.

Still, why had he had to see her? It wasn’t that she wasn’t overjoyed to see him, because she was. She just wasn’t ready to see him yet. Not again. She hadn’t seen him since the clock tower at Twilight Town, and, even though all the time had passed, she was embarrassed. Who wouldn’t be? She had fainted, more from despair than happiness. She was beyond glad, on that day. She had found both her best friends. Axel AND Roxas. But. Vexen had to show up and ruin it. He was the last person she wanted to see. Well, besides Xemnas, and Xaldin, and Larxene, and Marluxia, and Zexion, and well, basically anyone else in the Organization. With the exceptions of Axel and Roxas. Still, Vexen was one of the last people she wanted to see. Now, unfortunately, Axel and Roxas were added to that list. She had fainted in front of them. How could she have done such a thing? And, to make matters worse, she had woken up in Roxas' arms.

As he stood there after calling her name out across the crowd, he was almost certain he saw her look to him, before turning away. Why she did that, he did not know. He hoped everything was okay, and that nothing was bothering her. As he noticed her getting up, she started to walk in the opposite direction, he quickened his pace to catch up to her.

"HEY! Xion! Stop! Wait up!" He shouted, trying to get to her, but having to dodge many people in the process. Eventually, he managed to reach her and grabbed her shoulder to stop her from getting further away from him. "Hey, Xion. You okay? Why'd you walk away from that?"

Xion sighed dramatically, or, as dramatically as she could. She shouldn’t have moved or done anything like that. She should have just waved back at him and tried to call him to her or something along those lines. Now, he was going to be mad at her. She didn’t want him to be mad at her. Besides, if he wasn’t mad, then he was going to be worried,--as worried as they could be-and try to see what was wrong. So, when she heard his footsteps behind her, she really wasn’t surprised in the slightest. She expected it. Yet, she hadn’t expected him to grab her shoulder, causing her to whirl around with a shocked look clearly written on her face.

“Roxas.” She breathed taking a step back and bringing her arm up to her lip before looking away from him. Not necessarily turning her head, just moving her eyes to the left so that it appeared she was staring at the subway and the people rather than meet his eyes. “Huh?” She asked this time forcing her eyes to meet his, even though she didn’t bother to remove her arm. “Of course I’m okay. Why wouldn’t I be, Roxas?” She questioned lightly tilting her head to the side in an effort to bring forth a confused look. “Walk away form what?”[/color]
