{Dreaming of a Western Sky}{Irvine}

Up in her dorm room a young brunette haired woman lay on her bed,on her stomache and flipped through a magazine.Classes we're over for the day and she was just plain out bored,there was nothing to do.A sigh escaped her lips as she pushed the magazine off the bed and spread her arms out in front of her and and her legs kicking on the bed,why did it have to be so damn boring.Wait she could go find something to do in the garden,maybe even run into a certain young cowboy whom she adored and loved.

Sliding off the bed she landed with a thud on the floor,pulling her skirt down.How embarassing that would be if she had actually done that in front of someone,the garden didn't seem to be moving at the momment since it was night time.Did that mean the cafeteria was closed too,oh fooey cakes that meant she had to go to one of those icky vending machines around the garden.Pushing herself up off the floor,she brushed herself off and headed out the door closing it behind her.

Running down the little hall,then down the stairs she made her way towards the elevator.Dinging the button she waited,humming a small tune to herself.When the doors opened she went inside and pressed for the first floor,again she kept humming her green eyes staring up at the ceiling of the elevator.And once it dinged again opening the doors,stepped out but went tumbling forewards towards the ground.

"GYWAH......".

"So much of nothing to do, and so little time" Irvine sighed to himself as he tapped the balcony railing. It was a beautiful night, the sky was clear and the stars were out twinkling bright, almost as if Hyne himself had placed diamonds on a black velvet cloth. "Whoo Kinneas you are startin' ta sound like a woman" he chuckled to himself as the wind blew causing his tradmark ponytail to sway about on his back. With a sudden shiver the tall cowboy thought it best to go inside, maybe he could hit the training center. Heck maybe a certain little cowgirl would like to join him. With a sly grin Irvine silently made his way back into the warmth of the garden. The only sound that could be heard up here was the soft thud of his brown boots against the tiled floor, oddly enough it calmed whatever nerves that had attacked him earlier on the balcony. Another small smile played across the cowboys features as he pressed the button for the first floor, which really was un-needed seeing as the door gently slid open and he was not so gently run into at that precise moment.
"GYWAH......." it was a females voice, Irvine couldnt believe his luck. All alone up here with some girl. He briefly wondered if she had a boyfriend and if she was cute till Selphie's cheery face popped into his head. He was a changed man now! No floozie could take his heart away from Selphie, she had that though he wasn't sure if she really knew it. At least not yet.

"I am so sorry darlin' are you o-" he kneeled down to help the poor thing up but stopped as he realized who it was. Selphie. His heart skipped a beat and he thanked Hyne she couldn't hear it. "Selphie! Lil cowgirl, you okay?" he held his hand out for her to take it.

"Why am I such a clutz"

No sooner had she said that did a hand reach out to her,and a kind voice.She blinked and looked up,seeing the familiar face of her favorite cowboy whom she loved very much.Taking his hand she pushed herself up off the ground and blushed,had he heard her yell out and then tumble out of the elevator.It's true she was a clutz,and it's amazing how everytime she had fallen down a hill or cliff that she never once broke a bone in her little body.

"I'm fine,just fine really.Nothing to worry about here,nope nuh uh i'm fit as a fiddle".

But for once she kinda winced in pain,that tumble made her sprain her ankle abit.So much for being invincible huh,she kept her hand in Irvine's as she hopped foreward abit then fell against him.Her face blushed a deep pink,she could hear his heartbeat in his chest and then felt hers beating really quickly.Wasn't this romantic,all alone at night in the garden with the man she loved more then anything and a sprained ankle.

Irvine quickly placed his arms protectivly around Selphie without a thought.

"Woah there lil lady." He smirked down at her small face as he gently moved to place an arm around her waist, while he bent slightly to pull one of her arms over his shoulder.

Well wasn't his luck just marvelous! Here they were upstairs all alone, and on a beautiful night no less. Though the fact that Selphie seemed to have injured herself put a bit of a damper on whatever little plan his mind had subconciously hatched. He was vaguly aware that it had to do with Selphie and himself, though at this very moment he wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be. As he was thinking all this the cowboy had managed to, or at least he tried, to get Selphie over to a spot on the floor near the wall.

"You okay? " concern filled his features and his tone as he brought his soft gaze to her small face. "What hurts?"

"I said i'm fine,even though I think I sprained my ankle".

She tryed to mumble out the last part,not wanting to worry Irvine too much.But he was so gentle with her and to not answer his question,would only make him wonder more.And another thing was his soft voice full of concern,then his gaze upon her small features of a face.The brunette pointed at her ankle where it hurt the most,the pain that shot through her ankle wasn't as bad now then it had been when she first fell.Oh why did he have to be so perfect,she could feel her heart skip a beat as she stared in his eyes.

"It's just my ankle,but i'm sure it will be tip top tomorrow you'll see".

Of course she didn't know how bad her ankle was sprained,they would need to go see the nurse.This really sucked here she came from her dorm hoping to find her cowboy which she did,but what she didn't plan on was hurting herself.Her chance for a romantic night just took a topsy turvy and it sucked it really sucked,she puffed her cheeks out like a squrriel and have a pouty look.

ooc: *frustrated growl* internets not working.. AGAIN! So if I'm MIA again for a long while, I am super sorry....... *kicks computer* plus don't ask why I can post yet I can't do anything else, *smacks router* cause I seriously have noooo idea. *cries a little*

Ic: Catching Selphie's little pout the cowboy can't help but grin "Well now don't go lookin like a squirrel, your face might just get stuck like that!" gently he lifts one of his hands and lightly touches the tip of her nose with his finger. With a slight chuckle Irvine simply lowers Selphie onto the floor, allowing her back to rest against the wall as he takes his hat off and places it on her head.

"I'll need ya to hold that for me, just fer a second" he winks at her and before she can say anything hes down at her feet her hurt ankle in his hand.

Gently, he begins to twist her ankle this way and that, then he runs his thumb in gentle circles on her different spots. Truth be told he had absolutly no idea what he was looking for, besides the obvious things like swelling, painful expressions on her face. Not allowing his face to show his obvious clueless-ness Irvine simply nods to himself as he begins to undue her boot and, as gently as he possibly can, slides if off her foot. That was one thing he remembered from training, give the ankle room. Plus he knew she loved these boots and he really didnt have the cash to buy her a new pair. Considering..... Before the thought can fully register and cause Irvine to grin like a total maniac he looks Selphie in the eyes.

"We may just need to get ya to Doctor Kadowakis office. She'd know exactly what ta do" he allows a grin and a wink along with a little bit of extra time spent with his hand on her calf.

"Would ya like to walk? Or I could always carry ya...." his grin turned into a mishevious smile as his eyes locked onto Selphies.

Giggling she let her cheek deflate,she didn't want to look like a rodent for the rest of her life.Resting her back against the wall when settled on the floor,her face lit up with excitement when he placed his hat on her head.His hat she loved it and no one else was allowed to wear it but her,otherwise she would kick they're butts and show them that she was Irvine's woman.Okay so the butt kicking was going a little too far,but she just loved his hat and especially loved how she looked in it.Peeking out from the under the rim of the hat,she winced when he turned her ankle one way then another it hurt it really hurt.

"Ahhhh.....owie owie owie,that hurts".

She pulled the hat down over her eyes and gritted her teeth,even though he was being gentle it still hurt.Selphie pulled the hat back up abit feeling her boot being taken off,what the heck was he doing the floors we're cold.Oh he was checking to see if she had any bruising or swelling maybe,he was totally clueless wasn't he and had no idea what to check for.Blinking her green eyes she stared right back into Irvine's eyes then pulled the hat down once more,she only let her eyes wander down towards her ankle seeing it had swelled just abit.

"Would you carry me,I like it when you carry me".

Lifting the hat up once more,she could see his eyes we're locked onto hers.And his hand was upon her calf,she gave a little snort then a laugh.Irvine was just too priceless and such a sweetie to be around,he knew how to put a smile on one's face and make you laugh when times we're tough.

Selphies laugh causes Irvines heart to flutter, for lack of a manlier word. With a nod of his head the cowboy makes his way to his cowgirls side where, as gently as he can, he picks her up and cradles her to his chest as if she were a child. After a few seconds of making sure she wont slip Irvine begins his way towards the elevator, where he comes across a bit of an obstical. How in the world is he gonna press the button without putting Selphie down? Then with a roll of his eyes he gazes down at Selphie and smirks, though his voice catches in his throat almost as if this is the first time he's ever seen the small figure in his arms. It seems to strike him at just how much of a woman Selphie has become. She no longer comes across to Irvine as though she is utterly helpless and needs him to stick up for her, and thoughts of a time when Quistis would pick on her flashed through the mans mind. Though, as he looks into her eyes he still see's the same child-like wonder that had caught his attention in the first place. She simply is beautiful and adorable all in one. Realizing he's staring Irvine quickly clears his throat and grins down at her

"Well helpless lil lady, would ya mind pressin' the button for me?" his Galbadian drawl seems to come through a little more strongly than usual and even he notices.

She giggled and then reached her hand out and pressed the button for the elevator,after she had done that the former trabian garden girl snuggled against her man's chest.He might not be a doctor but him holding her like this was just made her feel at ease,and the pain her ankle seemed to disappear all together.But she knew once they got to the hospital ward that pain would come shooting back again,that doctor wasn't exactly the gentlest when it came to injuries like this but who was she to judge right.Since being in Balamb the many times she's been in the hospital ward,is like once or twice.... okay maybe a little more then that but who was keeping track.

"Elevator button pressed sir,this patient is ready for transport".

Now the waiting game started,this elevator had many destinations.There was downstairs and then the headmaster's office,and of course the basement where that nasty Norg was they defeated.And she especially hated all the monsters that had come barging into the garden that time,your never to come into someone else's home without being invited.Although in they're case they didn't need to be invited,so many things have happened in this garden but what even more stranger is that the garden had floated down into some strange new world.

Where we're they exactly,she had gone on the observation deck earlier seeing the landscape had changed.Things that she didn't recognize floated by her,and then all of a sudden the garden had just come to a stop.That's when she felt like that girl Dorothy from the wizard of Oz,she wasn't home anymore except for this place where she felt safe.

"Hey Irvine,have you noticed anything strange".
